Schneider & Company is a Mfg. Rep/Distributor of premier automation, assembly and robotics products in the states of Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.

Our products are a combination of standard automation components as well as system solutions used in manufacturing facilities. Examples: Robots, Vision Flex Feeding, Conveyor systems, Assembly Process Products.

Our Customers are a combination of end user manufacturing companies of all types and Machine Builder / System Integrators who build custom machines for manufacturing companies.

We are looking for motivated sales professionals with experience selling automation products.

West Michigan

Best location for the candidate we are looking for would be in the Grand Rapids for West Michigan area. We are opening a satellite tech center location in the between Grand Rapids/ Kalamazoo area for regional employees to work out of. The tech center will be similar to our Brighton facility and used for demo equipment, visits onsite and provide the ability to do robotics training classes and other technical seminars.

About the Position:

Support our current customers and develop good relationships where they see us as high value providers of latest technology products for their production equipment needs

Participate in equipment quoting based on listening to customers needs and knowledge of products

Ability to demonstrate equipment, explain capabilities, give presentations and assist in setting up equipment and training after sale. Our sales approach is very much based on “hands on” demonstrations of products and technologies.

Sales and Business Development activities including: customer database work, activity/order reports, forecasts, CRM and lead follow up, working with our Marketing on events and target customer prospecting.

Travel is typically min. 3-4 days a week working in the territory, visiting customers. The territories are generally defined by a 2-3 hour driving radius. There are a few overnight trips in a year.

Job Requirements are:

Excellent communication skills – (listening especially)

Analytical and strategic thinker – “puzzle solver” always looking for a better way

(2 Years min.) Sales Experience with Technical Products (strongly preferred selling to manufacturing companies or machine builders and similar automation/assembly type products) Note: we will request references and proven track record of success

Engineering/Manufacturing (Mechanical or Electrical) experience and aptitude

Experience and Interest with Automation, Robotics and/or Assembly and Testing in manufacturing environments.

4 year Degree (Engineering, Business Related)

Very Good Computer skills required

Software and Soc. Media; MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) LinkedIn

Working Knowledge of Cad and Print Reading; ACad and/or 3d cad (Solidworks)

Work well as a team member

Compensation and Benefits:

Base Salary
